“The winter started October 20 with six-plus feet of mid-winter snow. It seemed like February in October and the backcountry was epic. The resorts opened at the beginning of November and then winter just kept coming. We had colder and drier snow than normal, so a lot of the steeps did not fill in the way they normally would. Different places filled in and allowed new lines to appear where they would not be possible any other year. The season progressed with above normal amounts while most of my trips to other places got canceled due to lack of snow. It continued to snow throughout the spring, with pow days through May, and the local resorts closed May 30. And it dumped again on June 17 for the fourth time that month. I can’t say when this season will end for me. Nine months and counting.”
