| Lost Trail is an analog ski area in a digital time. This is certainly no high-speed quad, hurry up and have a good time kind of place. On the contrary, this is the sort of place you come to slow down, breathe deep, and reassess your priorities. Most of Lost Trail’s lifts are re-cobbled Hall doubles that were bought 2nd hand from places like Grand Targhee. Bill, the grizzled patriarch of the Grasser family, seems to have a genuine fondness for wrenching on these old school, readily salvageable lifts. In a world of turbo-charged Audis, these are his ’68 Chevy’s. And Bill apparently has good stash of spare parts. —from Mike Harrelson’s Lost and Found |
